For students at Newcastle University: providing sporting, social, cultural and recreational opportunites; protecting and promoting their interests including well-being and conditions of study; providing representation and guidance on welfare and other matters; promoting good relations between them and the general public; communicating on their behalf with the University and other bodies.
Objects: 3. The Objects Of The Union Society Are:3.1 The Furtherance And The Enhancement Of The Educational Purposes Of The University Of Newcastle Upon Tyne Including But Not Limited To:3.1.1 Providing Sporting, Social, Cultural And Recreational Opportunities In Order To Promote The Academic And Social Education Of Students At Newcastle University;3.1.2 Protecting And Promoting The Interests Of The Students, Their Welfare, Development, Well-Being And Conditions Of Study;3.1.3 Acting As The Official Channel Of Communication Between The Students And The University And Other Bodies;3.1.4 Providing Representation, Guidance And Assistance To Students On Matters Affecting Their Welfare And Interests As Students;3.1.5 Promoting Good Relations Between Students And Those Of Other Educational Establishments And The General Public; And3.1.6 By Any Ancillary Or Incidental Charitable Activities For The Benefit Of The Community
