Activities

ASTO distributes bursary funds to member organisations to support the provision of Sail Training opportunities in the UK. It organises events such as the Small Ships' Races to promote Sail Training, runs international exchanges with other Sail Training organisations, and encourages greater participation. It gathers evidence of the outcomes and actively promotes Sail Training and its benefits.

Objects: Such Objects And Purposes In Any Part Of The World As Are Exclusively Charitable In Accordance With The Laws Of England And Wales And In Particular (But Without Prejudice To The Generality Of The Foregoing) Through Promoting The Provision Of Opportunities For Sea Training Under Sail Or Power (1) To Provide Instruction To Young Persons And To Adults With Disabilities In The Principals Of Responsibility, Resourcefulness, Loyalty And Team Endeavour And (2) To Advance Education In The Art Of Seamanship.
