Its principal activities include elderly luncheon club, and interest classes, library service, community projects and festive and birthdays celebrations. This year apart from Salsa dancing, Tai Chi, Tai Chi Sword and Chair base exercises were converted to fitness dance in Chlnese style, and there is a brand new creativity & Leisure group on every Wednesday. This activitv aims to remind them of their Chinese heritage and to improve their physical well being. Development artivities and achlevement during the year The Newham Chinese Association operates from St Mark's Church Hall 218 Tolgate Road Beckton E6 SYA The Association provides Chinese elderly access to preventive health care, social services, information circulation and leisure opportunities in Newham. Other assistance for the members includes health talks, birthday parties, exchange visits, trips and tours, as well as festive celebrations. Our Luncheon Club continue to provide meals prepared by outside contractor because St Marks Church Hall does not have access to kitchen facilities but the club continue to be well supported Newham Chinese Association strives for equality for all. Disabled people, lone parents, the unemployed and the socially deprived are given a place where they can come together and share opportunities. Experience and knowledge Page I

Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless It is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. d. The directors are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 1985. e. The directors are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detettion of fraud and other irregularities. f. Report of the Independent examiner to the trustees of Newham Chinese Association a charitable company limited by guarantee. Re Financial statements for the year ended 31st March 2024 Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The directors are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 14412) of the Charities Act 2011 and that an independent examination is needed. Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for independent examination, it 15 my responsibility to- examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; to follow the procedures laid down in the generaLDirections given by the Charity Commission under section 145{51(b) of the 2011 Act; and to state whether particular matters have come to my attentlon. Basis of independent examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordan with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accountlng records kept by the charity and comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as triistees concerning any such matters.
