We design procedures In Ilne wlth our responslbilitios. outlingd abovg, to detect material misslatemgnts in respect of irregularltles, including fraud. The extent to which our procedures ar6 capable of detecting irregul8rÈties, including fraud is detailed below.. The audit 'leam obtained an understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks that are appll¢able to the Group and determined that the most significant are IhDs8 that relate to th@ reporting framework (FRS102 and the Companies Act 2006). the relevant tax compliance regulations, employment law, Health and Safety Regulations and the EU General Data Protectlon Regulation {GDPR). We understood how the Group Is complylng with these frameworfis by maklng enquirfe8 of management and those rosponsiblo for legal and compliance procedures. We reviewed board minules to Identlfy any recorded instancès of irr8gularity or non compliance that might have a material Impact on the financial stat8m@nts. We assessed the susceptlbillty of the Group's financial statements to material mlsstatement, Includlng how fraud mlght occur by meeting wilh key managem&nt to undérstand where they are consldered there was susceptibility to fraud. Based on our understanding our procedures involved enquiries of management and thos6 charged wlth gov6mance, manual journal testing, cashbook reviews for large and unusual items and the challenge of slgniflcant estimates used in preparing financial statements, Because of the inherent limitations of an audit, there is a risk that wa wlll nol detect all irregularities, including those leading to a material misstatement In the financial statements or non-compllance with regulation. This risk increases thg more that cempliance with a law or regulation is removed from the events and transactions reflpoted in the financial siat8ments, as we will be less likely to become aware of instances of non4ompliance. The risk is also greater regarding irregularities occurring due ta fraud rather than error, as fraud Involves intenlicnal conceslment, forgery, collusion, omission or misr&presentation. A furth@r description of our responsibilities for the audit of the financial statements is located on th8 Financial Reportln£ Councll's website at: www.frc.or .ukla ibilities, This description forms part of our Audltors, report.
