Together We Rise Recovery Housing is established to provide safe, stable, abstinence-based recovery housing for people affected by homelessness, housing instability and substance use. Our aim is to support people in the early to middle stages of recovery by providing a secure home and supportive recovery environment in which they can build recovery capital and progress towards independent living. During our first year we remained in development and did not yet accommodate residents. Work included negotiating potential tenancies, developing policies and procedures, exploring local authority acquisition and property funding opportunities, submitting funding applications, developing partnerships and initial awareness raising. Our planned launch was delayed following the unexpected death of an intended initial investor. His estate is aware of his wishes, but this process takes time, so we continue to pursue alternative funding and opportunities to establish our first homes.
