Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended'

RAPA is a safe, inclusive playground facility for children and young people (0-16, including those with disabilities) and their families, open 50 weeks a year, 5 days and 5 evenings weekly. Established in 1991 in Dennistoun, RAPA provides free play, structured activities, sport, and creative arts to foster development, fun, and safety. We aim to free potential, offer a safe alternative to street play, and promote integration between able-bodied and disabled children. Our community-focused approach, supported by local groups, provides a vital resource for cohesion. Activities include adapted bikes, sensory rooms, sports coaching, arts, and community events like Family Fun Days.

Objectives: (1) To promote the care of children and young people in necessitous circumstances and those with special needs, with a view to improving their conditions of life. (2) To advance education among children and young people and, in particular, so as to develop their physical, mental and social capacities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society. (3) To provide facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation available to children and young people with a view to improving their conditions of life. (4) To promote, establish, operate, and/or support other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of children and young people.
