Objectives: 5. The Organisation's main purpose is consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development. The Organisation's Purposes are: 5.1 To advance community development (including the advancement of woodland, green space and social regeneration) by bringing natural spaces into Community ownership, operation and/or use to improve the quality of life for the Community and the public in general. 5.2 To advance environmental protection or improvement (including woodlands and other natural habitats) by managing them for the preservation of biodiversity and providing access, recreational facilities and activities that connect the Community with nature, with the object of sustainably improving the conditions of life for the Community and the public in general. 5.3 To advance science by the study of flora, fauna and fungi by naturalists, ecologists, conservation societies and other experts and to provide education and opportunities for the public to participate in citizen science and nature-based projects, with the object of improving the Community's ability to protect, preserve and enhance their environment and thereby their quality of life. 5.4 To advance heritage and culture for the benefit of the Community and the public in general by preserving, repairing and restoring designated landscape, historic or listed features and to bring these into appropriate public use for cultural activities with the object of improving quality of life for the Community. 5.5 To advance health by working with GPs and academics to develop and offer nature-based social prescribing (NBSP) activities to the Community, and participate in research designed to measure NBSP effectiveness, with the object of facilitating connections with nature and likeminded individuals thereby improving the quality of life of the Community and the public in general.
