The 6th East Kilbride Scout Group is a youth-led organisation dedicated to preparing young people aged 5 to 18 with 'skills for life.' Established in 1961, their core mission is to empower local youth to reach their full potential by fostering self-confidence, resilience, and leadership. They aim to shape responsible, active citizens who are equipped to succeed in both their personal lives and future careers. To achieve this, the group delivers a balanced program across four main sections (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers) using the 'Scout Method.' This involves: Learning by Doing: Members engage in hands-on activities ranging from traditional bushcraft and camping to modern skills like robotics and first aid. Outdoor Adventure: They utilise the natural world as a classroom, organizing hikes, water sports, and expeditions that challenge physical and mental boundaries.
