Inverness Tool Library is run by volunteers who collect, restore and maintain donated tools to provide a lending library of equipment for gardening, household maintenance, crafting and recreation. Any adult (18 yrs +) within Inverness and the wider community can become a library member for £20 a year (or whatever the person can afford) and borrow any item for a week at a time, up to three weeks. Volunteers provide skill-sharing workshops using the donated tools to allow adults to practice basic woodworking tasks from the start (eg, measuring, cutting, joining) to the end of a project, (eg, sanding, finishing). Volunteers attend events and hold open days to promote awareness of climate change and the need for the circular economy.
