Structure, governance and management
Type of governing document
Trustee recruitment and appointment
YCYS is governed by its board of trustees, who meet regularly
to oversee operations, compliance, and strategic planning.
Risk management is embedded in decision-making, with
particular attention to phased insurance cover, safeguarding,
and health and safety compliance. Trustees are committed to
transparent reporting and alignment with OSCR’s regulatory
requirements.
Trustees were appointed at establishment in August 2024 in
line with the constitution, and future recruitment will be through
open calls to ensure appropriate skills, diversity, and
compliance with OSCR duties.
Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes
Summary of the main activities
in relation to these objects
YCYS has been established to benefit the community of
Paisley by preventing and relieving poverty through awareness
and training; advancing citizenship and community
development; providing recreational facilities and activities to
improve quality of life; promoting equality and diversity; and
relieving those in need due to age, ill-health, disability,
financial hardship, or other disadvantage.
During its first operational period, YCYS advanced its charitable
purposes by hosting two community summer BBQ outreaches that
fostered social inclusion and volunteer engagement. The charity also
progressed the Community Asset Transfer of Beechwood Community
Centre, securing a Licence to Occupy from Renfrewshire Council to
commence community use while legal missives are concluded. These
activities demonstrate YCYS’s commitment to building community
cohesion and responsibly stewarding local assets for public benefit.

APPENDIX 1

Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of
the charity during the financial period
During the financial period, YCYS successfully delivered two
community summer BBQ outreaches that fostered inclusion,
volunteer participation, and strengthened local engagement.
The charity progressed the Community Asset Transfer of
Beechwood Community Centre, with missives now being
exchanged, and secured a Licence to Occupy from
Renfrewshire Council to commence community use of the
asset. These achievements demonstrate YCYS’s early impact
in building community cohesion and establishing the
foundations for sustainable stewardship of local facilities.
Financial review
Brief statement of the charity’s policy
on reserves
Details of any deficit
Donated facilities and services (if any)
As a newly established charity, YCYS has limited reserves at
present. Trustees aim to build and maintain a prudent level of
unrestricted reserves sufficient to cover at least three months
of core operating costs, ensuring financial stability and
continuity of services. The reserves position is reviewed
annually in line with the charity’s growth and risk management
needs.
YCYS did not operate at a deficit during the financial period.
Expenditure was proportionate to income and carefully
managed to ensure financial stability.
During the financial period, YCYS benefited from donated
facilities and volunteer services, including the use of
community spaces and in-kind support for outreach events.
These contributions reduced costs and enabled wider
community participation.

Independent Examlners Report Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Your Community Your Space (SC053549) I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 st March 2025 which are set out on the pages attached. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (a) to (c) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Independent examiner's statement My examination is carried out in accordan￿ with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Independent examiner's statement In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: . to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations . to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 8 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Date: 14th November 2025
