Objectives: 1. The prevention or relief of poverty, period poverty or poor menstrual health is exacerbated by poverty. MRG’s purpose will be to raise awareness for the economic challenges that drive poor menstrual health across Scotland. This includes supporting education initiatives, partnering with local governments and the Scottish Government, Trade Unions, and our grassroots volunteers to coordinate discussions and raise funds that will support women, girls and people who menstruate who are living in low-income households to attain their menstrual health. 2. The advancement of education, we are planning to work with our subject matter experts, and representatives from trade unions, the International Labor Organization, and the National Health Service in Scotland to further education and campaigns that address menstrual stigma and shame in the workplace, so that women and people who menstruate will be able to have their basic needs met at work. This will include campaigns that educate around menstrual disorder, perimenopause and menopause. 3. The advancement of health, MRG is committed to advancing menstrual health from menarche to menopause. Our purpose will be to work with multi-sectoral partners to drive the conversation around menstrual health - education, stigma and shame, access to water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities, and access to a variety of menstrual products, because menstrual health is a fundamental public health issue. 4. The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation, MRG’s purpose is to demonstrate that menstrual health is a public health and human rights issue. Our focus will be to address menstrual stigma and shame in the workplace and broader society through rights-based initiatives. 5. The promotion of equality and diversity, MRG is committed to intersectional menstrual health, ensuring the inclusion of trangender and non-binary people who menstruate, those that have disabilities, those in low-income household, those that are experiencing homelessness, and those that are incarcerated through advocacy and policy initiatives, not direct outreach, but the attempt to raise awareness and change policies that will support these communities.
