Objectives: The objects of the CIO ('the objects') are to relieve people suffering from the condition of Cardiomyopathy and related conditions in particular ( but without prejudice to the generality thereof) by: (a) developing and maintaining a network of support for people suffering from the condition and their families (b) promoting education among sufferers of the condition, their families and those having the professional care of sufferers about the symptoms and the treatment of the condition. and (c) promoting or assisting in the promotion of research into the condition and its treatment and the publication of the results of that research. Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
