Structure Govemantr and Mana ement Governlng Document In readiness for our application to change from an Unincorporated Association to a SCIO, the Club changed its Constitution. adopting the SCVO Model SCIO Constitution. at the Annual General Meeting held on 28, February 2024. Recrultment and AppoSntment of Management Commlttee Office Bearers are appointed by the membership in line with the new Constitution at the Annual General Meeting held each February. Apart from the Captain and Vice-captain, who have the option of serving for 2 years. appointments are for l year. running from each AGM to the next. All Members are eligible for re-election. Organlsatlonal Structure The Club 15 run by the Management Committee. It consists of the Principal Office Bearers and Convenors of several Small Sub-committees which are responsible for various aspects of the Club. At present there are 4- Greens, Match & Handicap. House & Social Sublommittees and a small pro-re -nata Committee dealing with the change of legal status and the new lease. There are also a Dlgltal Secretary, Health & Safety Officer, Junior Convenor. the imrnediate Past Captain and 2 further elected members. The captain chairs the monthly meetings. Trustee Indurtlon and Tralnlng The appointment of a new Trustee is made after Board discussion regarding the skills, abilities and experiences that they can bring to Bute Golf Club. On the recruitment of new Trustees, they are given documentation on their responsibilitie5. There are also an explanation and disCU55ion of role5 and responsibilities during the first Committee meeting that new Trustees attend. ectlves and Actlvltles The purpose of the Club is the advancement of public participation in the sport of golf. Annual Membership is open to all over the age of 6 who are interested in the game and supportive of the Club. Social and competitive golf are well supported. The course is also used by casual golfers and visitors to our Island from other parts of the UK and abroad. To attract new Lady Members, we held a 'Get into Golf event which resulted in Some attendee5 joining. Coaching Sessions were held for school age children during the summer holidays and were taken up by some children who already p5ayed the game, but most were complete beginners. We are fortunate that our Junior Convenor is an Active Schools Coordinator which enhances our visibility in our local schools. Winter memberships, which run from l October to 31. March. are also popular. We also hold a Senior Open and Kingarth Open competitions. Mixed fun days and social events with other golf clubs, as well as non-golfing events were enjoyed throughout the year by our members.

The Suc￿sS was measured by the many compliments received throughout the season. Skills levels and enjoyment of the course and game have improved. and health and wellbeing have been promoted. 3. Achlevements Our Club is in its 136, year. Membership has increased, particularly in our Ladies Section. We successfully negotiated the terms of our new lease for the Course which will begin on I'january 2025. We enlisted the help of Club Development Company. through the sponsorship of Scottish Golf, to guide us through the application process of becoming a SCIO. Our application was approved on 16 May 2024 when most of our 2024 Management Committee Members became Trustees. We have an active presence on Fatebook which further enhance5 our visibility to new members and vlsltors alike. To maintain the integrity of our iconic 100 year old aubhouse, it was re-roofed, 4. Fln lal Revlew Prlnclple Fundln8 Sources Our income comes from Annual Membership subscriptions, Visiting Golfers Green Fees and sponsorship. We hope to be successful in the future with a gfant application to improve course and practice area equipment. We are also considering applying to the CO OP Community Fund to enable us to UP8rade our Greens Keeping machinery. Our income shows an increase and our expenses were less ￿rnpared to last year, resulting in smaller10s5. Overall. our financial position remains Stable. Reserve$ Pollcy We will ensure that there are sufficient reserves to 5UPPQrt the Club. Our policy is to keep six months of annual expenditure, based on 2023 figures unrestricted reserves. This would enable us to wind down the running ofthe Club in an orderly manner and honourany commitments we May have if the aub was to cease.
