'the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science'

The charity was set up to protect and preserve the golf heritage of Royal Dornoch Golf Club, which stretches back to 1616. At present it is focussed on creating new piece3s of art that capture this heritage, most notably a statue of Donald Ross and John Sutherland, two of the most prominent figures in the club's history.

Objectives: 4 The organisation's purpose is the advancement of culture through written, verbal and visual material relating to the history of golf in Dornoch: the use of this information to create accessible digital, written and artistic materials that represent the distinctive character and heritage of golf in Dornoch. It will be widely disseminated through books, pamphlets, artistic and on-line materials. A primary aim will be to ensure that these materials communicate Dornoch's influence on the development of golf in the USA, primarily through the efforts of Donald Ross from Dornoch, who designed more than 450 golf courses North America and was the first golf architect to be inducted into the golfing hall of fame.
