Glasgow South Centre is set up to advance the religion of Islam and to advance education within the local Muslim community and wider Scotland. The charity also aims to support the physical, intellectual, social, moral and spiritual development of individuals and to promote religious and racial harmony and mutual respect between Muslims and wider society. The charity delivers its purposes through educational and community-based activities, including the provision of educational support, religious and educational learning activities, and community engagement initiatives. Activities are delivered in accordance with the charity’s governing document. The charity’s work is intended to benefit the local Muslim community and the wider public in Scotland.

Objectives: 4. Objects 4.1. GSC's Objects are specifically restricted to the following: (a) to promote and facilitate the advancement of the religion of Islam within the local Muslim community (and wider Scotland) in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) and conforming to the interpretations and accepted views of the Ahl al-Sunnah Wa Al-Jama'ah as taught by As-Salaf As-Saaliheen (pious predecessors) and in accordance with the teachings and writings of Shaykh al Hadith Mawlana Muhammad Zakariyya Muhajir al Madani (Rahimahullah) and his teachers (as mentioned in his writings) which includes: accepting the Prophet Muhammad (Sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) as the final Prophet and Messenger of Allah, having respect for the Sahabah (Companions) of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallalahu alayhi wa sallam), following one of the four (4) Madhhabs (schools of Islamic Law) and accepting Tasawwuf (spiritual purification) as an important aspect of Islam. (b) to promote and facilitate the advancement of education within the local Muslim community (and wider Scotland). (c) to promote and facilitate the physical, intellectual, social, moral and spiritual development of members of the local Muslim community (and wider Scotland) through a broad range of religious, educational, recreational, social and spiritual activities. and (d) to promote religious and racial harmony and to promote mutual respect between Muslims and wider society through public engagement, thus assisting Muslims to participate in, and contribute fully to society. 4.2. GSC's Objects are restricted to those set out in articles 4,1 (a), (b), (c) and (d) but subject to article 4.3. 4.3. GSC may (subject to first obtaining the consent of OSCR) add to, remove, or alter the statement of GSC's Objects in articles 4.1 (a), (b), (c) and (d). On any occasion when it does so, it must give notice to the Registrar of Companies and the amendment will not be effective until that notice is registered on the Register of Companies.
