Charity is primarily set up to raise funds to erect a statue in Banchory (Scott Skinners birthplace) as a permanent commemoration of his l.ife and works.

Objectives: 2 Aims and Objects: To ensure that the heritage, history and musical legacy of James Scott Skinner (1843-1927) is preserved in his home town of Banchory and on Royal Deeside. to commemorate his musical influence, life and work at home and abroad. and to ensure that his legacy is remembered by future generations. James Scott Skinner (known as the Strathspey King) was a renowned violinist, fiddler and composer. He is one of the most influential fiddlers in Scottish traditional music.
