NESFIT aims to support home owners and housing providers in NE Scotland and beyond with retrofitting domestic properties and the installation of renewable energy heating systems. NESFIT's purpose is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, advance public health and reduce fuel poverty. It also aims to educate the public and professionals on the subject of domestic retrofit. NESFIT organises training for professions and trades people, provides information to individuals, supports area based community groups furthering domestic retrofit, is involved in research, responds to consultations and engages with politicians. NESFIT is seeking funds to offer a bespoke retrofit assessment and co-ordination service to householders and housing providers.

Objectives: (a) advance environmental protection and improvement as a means of mitigating climate change by delivering to private residents and housing providers located primarily, but not exclusively, in North East Scotland, comprehensive services to support the retrofitting of domestic properties, including the installation of renewable energy systems. (b) advance the health of private residents located primarily, but not exclusively, in North East Scotland by delivering comprehensive retrofit services as a means of ensuring that they live in healthy, warm homes. (c) prevent and relieve poverty by delivering to private residents and housing providers located primarily, but not exclusively, in North East Scotland, comprehensive services to support them to retrofit their homes and domestic properties as a means of ensuring that these are less expensive to run. (d) advance the education of the public and relevant professionals in the subject of retrofitting domestic properties.
