Udny Community Trust Company Limited exists to help the community of Udny to develop. We aim to advance community development in and around the area and to advance education and learning. To achieve this we deliver and support a range of activities including but not limited to: developing skills, promoting and organising community events, supporting community groups and improving community facilities. Udny Community Trust operates the Udny Community Fund. Groups or projects can apply for small (up to £1000) or large grants (over £1000). To be eligible, the group or project must benefit the community of Udny. In most cases this will mean being based in Udny but consideration can be given to groups and projects based elsewhere if they can provide strong evidence that their project covers Udny and will provide community benefit to the area.
Objectives: (a) To relieve poverty among the residents of the community within the operating area. (b) To advance community development, including urban or rural regeneration in and around the operating area. (c) to advance public participation in sport and to assist in the provIsion of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, by the provision and management of projects and/or the support to other community organisations and activities in the operating area. (d) to advance community development, citizenship and the arts, heritage and culture through the creation, development, management and promotion of community events, projects and festivals. (e) to advance environmental protection or improvement in the operating area through projects aimed at community regeneration, improvement of energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy and micro-energy and the promotion and availability of affordable housing. and (f) to advance education and learning to support the young people of the operating area and to enable them to broaden their experience, obtain life chances and additional skills and to encourage younger people to remain as part of the community.
