The charity is set up to enhance musical learning for students and mature players of the 'cello. It also provides the opportunity for residents of Deeside to access high quality concert performances.

Objectives: 4 The organisation's purposes are: a) To enrich people's lives through cello music, whether they be players of any age or those who enjoy listening to music. b) to provide a stimulating and supportive environment for young cellists aiming at or entering the music profession to develop c) To offer an annual award to a gifted young cellist with an opportunity to perform a professional level concert. d) To encourage anyone who is learning cello. e) To provide a series of top-level concerts and attract audiences from the local area while stimulating extra tourism to the area.
