Our Charity is focussed on delivering cycling related initiatives, events and sessions that encourage individuals and groups to get out on bikes and look after their mental health. One of our core functions is to increase the number of people who cycle in our area while encouraging them to be environmentally friendly and reduce our carbon footprint through active travel. We aim to support our local economy by delivering high quality cycling events that attract people from all over the UK and further, that are inclusive and accessible to the vast majority

Objectives: To advance health, public participation in sport, the provision of recreational activities and the organisation of recreational facilities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended by ensuring an inclusive club for all ages and abilities * providing development and succession opportunities for those members doing the club's work including training and development opportunities for younger members ensuring they have a voice and an active role in the club's progression and journey. * organising weekly rides out that are free and cater for all ages, abilities and cycling genres over a variety of distances and grading * encouraging participation in all forms of biking including mountain, road, gravel, BMX and e biking from all communities including those from areas of deprivation * working in partnership with Forestry Land Scotland (FLS) and similar bodies to ensure all mountain bike and gravel routes are maintained to the required minimum standard and kept clear of hazards. * working in partnership with Newton Stewart Initiative and similar bodies to promote and develop local BMX faciities * identifying and working with vulnerable user groups to encourage active participation in cycling activities. * providing members with the opportunity to engage in the club's development through regular meetings supported by clear democratic procedures * seeking and progressing funding opportunities which support and deliver the clubs aims and objectives. * developing encouraging and promoting active travel and encouraging people, communities and organisations to look at more environmentally friendly modes of travel including cycling * organising inclusive events that cater for all ages, abilities and physical fitness levels and attract visitors to Galloway to help develop sustainable economic growth * promote the physical and mental health benefits provided by participating in regular exercise * seeking out and encouraging long term investment in local mountain bike trails, road routes and cycling infrastructure working in partnership with the local authority, FLS, Scottish Cycling and other similar bodies to promote Galloway as a tourist and cycling destination to stimulate economic growth and deliver social benefits to our local communities * providing coaching courses to qualify members in a variety of cycling genres enabling the club to deliver free training to cyclists of all levels * delivering a talent identification programme and providing logistical support packages to ensure those with aspirations to progress on a sporting level are given the opportunity regardless of their social background. * seeking out and developing partnerships with bodies who share common goals where mutual benefits can be provided through collaboration. * minimising the risk to all members by delivering health and safety policies and completing risk assessments and encouraging dynamic risk assessments by all members.
