Musselburgh and District Athletic Club is a community club open to adult runners and juniors who want to train and compete in athletics events. We welcome new members regardless of age or ability. Junior members have the opportunity to take part in a range of athletics events – jumps, sprints, hurdles, distance running and throws. Adult members concentrate on long distance running and members enter events ranging in distance from 5km to ultra-marathons. The Club also welcomes members who just enjoy athletics and running and prefer to run socially. The club is affiliated to and accredited by Scottish Athletics. All sessions are organised by trained coaches who are supported by volunteers. We offer opportunities for members to train as coaches and also there is a pathway open to Junior athletes allowing them to progress their careers.

Objectives: The Club is a non-profit distributing charity whose principal purpose is: 4.1 To provide opportunities for, and to promote participation of, the whole community in the sport of athletics in the Musselburgh and District area, including Track and Field, Cross Country and Road Running. 4.2 To provide the training, coaching and competition opportunities, which will allow athletes to maximise and fulfil their potential in the sport of athletics. 4.3 To foster and create an environment in the Musselburgh and District area where talent in athletics can be identified, encouraged and developed. 4.4 To provide recreational opportunities, and to organise recreational activities, available to members of the public in the Musselburgh and District area. 4.5 To support, retain and develop the coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers involved in The Club. 4.6 To work with local partners and athletics clubs in East Lothian, as well as Regional and National interested parties and organisations for the furtherance and development of athletics in the Musselburgh and District area. 4.7 To affiliate to the governing body of athletics in Scotland, namely Scottish Athletics Limited, and comply with and uphold the Rules and Regulations of both Scottish Athletics Limited and UK Athletics. 4.8 To do all such other things as shall further the objectives of The Club.
