Reuse Scotland SCIO works to reduce waste, support low-income households, and promote a circular economy by diverting reusable materials away from landfill and back into community use. Operating two large reuse shops alongside pop-up reuse events, the charity collects donated household items, furniture, books, textiles, tools, and specialist materials from individuals, businesses, local authorities, universities, and film/TV productions. These items are assessed, repaired where appropriate, and redistributed through low-cost retail, free-to-access community areas, and targeted donations. The organisation operates entirely through trading income, with no reliance on grant funding. This self-funding model enables agility, sustainability, and community benefit at scale.

Objectives: 4.1 The prevention or alleviation of poverty and inequalities through the promotion of waste as a community resource. 4.2 The advancement of education through facilitation and demonstration of the environmental, social and economic value of waste as a resource. 4.3 The advancement of environmental protection or improvement through reductions in materials to landfill.
