Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of citizenship or community development','the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended'

The charity was established to buy Easter Breich Wood on behalf of the community and manage it for the benefit of the local community and the natural environment. We do this by holding regular volunteer maintenance days, and events focused on looking at nature - such as fungi forays, tree ID walks and bird and butterfly counts.

Objectives: (4.1) To secure the area of woodland known as 'Easter Breich Wood' in perpetuity for the benefit of the community defined by the boundaries of Seafield Community Council, Polbeth Community Council and West Calder and Harburn Community Council. (4.2) To maintain and improve the woodland, footpaths, and bridleways, for the provision of recreational activities with the object of improving the quality of life and health of the community, (4.3) involving the community in maintaining and improving the woodland in order to advance community health and development (4.4) to maintain the woodland in such a way as advances environmental protection (4.5) To work with partners (organisations and/or individuals) to further objectives in 4.1 to 4.4 above
