As in our Purpose, this charity was created to absorb the association of Paisley Art Institute (PAI) (SC000840. There have been neither activity nor financial transactions within the charity during the period of this report. The Trustees of the Paisley Art Institute SC000840 (PAI) have been involved in protracted negotiations to clarify ownership of elements of its Art Collection and to have the Collection valued. This is progressing but, after legal guidance, the Trustees do not consider that PAI is yet in a position to consider the winding up of PAI and the subsequent transfer of assets to Paisley Art Institute (SCIO).

Objectives: 1.4 PURPOSES The purpose of the PAI is in accordance with the section of charitable purposes defined by the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, Sec 7 (2) f, as the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science. The original concept of the Institute has not changed since 1876. The Institute aimed to have its own member exhibitions and art collection to rival Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London. This was to give easier access for the people of Paisley and environs to a quality art experience for their pleasure, enrichment and education. Specifically, the purpose of the Institute shall be the encouragement of Art Studies, and the promotion of Art, by such means as Conversaziones, Lectures, and Exhibitions of Works of Art within Paisley and its environs.
