Home-Start Renfrewshire and Inverclyde (HSRI) is an early intervention/prevention family support charity, providing volunteer led parent-to-parent support, working alongside parents and their children to improve family life and help their children achieve their full potential. We train our local volunteers, usually parents themselves, to carry out the majority of services we offer. Our support involves regular home visits, group peer-support and intensive support, with assistance encompassing access to services such as mental health appointments, housing, literacy, and welfare benefits. We work with adults who have at least one child under five and have been working at grassroots level with Renfrewshire families since 2001. Families are usually referred through a health professional/social work services, often face barriers to engagement and are amongst the most marginalised in society. We support parents coping with a combination of difficulties: physical and mental he

Objectives: a) to safeguard, protect and preserve the good health, both mental and physical of children and parents of children. b) to help to prevent cruelty to or maltreatment of children. c) to relieve sickness, poverty and need amongst children and parents of children. d) to promote the education of the public in better standards of child care within the area of Renfrewshire and its environs.
