Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes
Summary of the main activities in relation to these objects
The aim of the group is the relief of those in need by age, ill health and financial hardship through the provision of funding, information, and support to those suffering from Dementia in Scotland.
The charity will fulfil its charitable purpose by:

Raising awareness in the area and raising funds by bucket collections.

Involving local people in helping to fundraise

Carrying out and promoting both charity work improving life in the local community, to educate, encourage and support people suffering from Dementia.

Raising funds and receive contributions where appropriate to finance the work.

Publicising and promoting the work.

Organising meetings, training courses and events.

Working with similar groups and exchanging information and advice with them.
The charity provides support to those suffering from dementia and their loved ones by providing gifts, assisting with home alterations, providing days out, meetings, home visits, support groups, hampers for families and house clearances. The activities of the charity are not limited to these activities and the trustees may take any lawful action they see fit to fulfil their aims.

Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period
The charity carried out a number of activities in the year to support those suffering from dementia and their families.
The trustees and volunteers organised:

Walks around Hogganfield Loch with families

Regular arts and crafts club

Movie nights at various Glasgow cinemas for families

• Knitting clubs

Church tea parties
The trustees also organised and co-ordinated the delivery of 135 family food hampers in the period from 17/12/2023 to 28/01/2025.
The trustees developed additional resources and guidance during the year to help volunteers address common concerns raised during correspondence from individuals and families.
Feedback from the charity’s beneficiaries during the year was reported to be positive across all the charity’s activities. The trustees note that events and activities raise vital funds, but also foster a sense of belonging and wellbeing among families and individuals involved. The trustees expressed appreciation for the dedication shown by organisers and encouraged continued collaboration to build on the charity’s successes.

The trustees view that it is prudent to hold reserves for 3 months’ worth of continued operations. As at the year end, the charity’s unrestricted reserves were £48,074. The charity’s ongoing expenditure on charitable activities, support and governance averaged £9,590 per month, meaning that sufficient reserves are held by the charity in line with its policy on reserves. |

| The charity generated £119,365 in receipts and £115,089 paid out on charitable activities, support costs and governance, which is a gross surplus of £4,276. The charity also purchased a new van costing £14,978, which results in a net deficit for the year of £10,702 (2024: £47,997 surplus). All funds are unrestricted, and the net unrestricted fund is duly carried forward to next year to use as the trustees see fit. |
