Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period

The charity carried out a number of activities in the year to support those suffering from dementia and their families.

The trustees and volunteers organised:

The trustees also organised and co-ordinated the delivery of 135 family food hampers in the period from 17/12/2023 to 28/01/2025.

The trustees developed additional resources and guidance during the year to help volunteers address common concerns raised during correspondence from individuals and families.

Feedback from the charity’s beneficiaries during the year was reported to be positive across all the charity’s activities. The trustees note that events and activities raise vital funds, but also foster a sense of belonging and wellbeing among families and individuals involved. The trustees expressed appreciation for the dedication shown by organisers and encouraged continued collaboration to build on the charity’s successes.

Financial review

Brief statement of the charity’s policy
on reserves
Details of any deficit
Donated facilities and services (if any)
The trustees view that it is prudent to hold reserves for 3 months’ worth of
continued operations.
As at the year end, the charity’s unrestricted reserves were £48,074. The
charity’s ongoing expenditure on charitable activities, support and
governance averaged £9,590 per month, meaning that sufficient reserves
are held by the charity in line with its policy on reserves.
The charity generated £119,365 in receipts and £115,089 paid out on
charitable activities, support costs and governance, which is a gross
surplus of £4,276. The charity also purchased a new van costing £14,978,
which results in a net deficit for the year of £10,702 (2024: £47,997
surplus).
All funds are unrestricted, and the net unrestricted fund is duly carried
forward to next year to use as the trustees see fit.
