The St Andrews Film Festival is a charity set up to deliver an annual international film festival and competition in St Andrews, Scotland. Its purpose is to showcase outstanding independent films that might not otherwise be seen locally, while creating opportunities for cultural exchange, education, and community engagement through cinema. We do this by curating film screenings, competitions, filmmaker Q&As, workshops, masterclasses, and public events that bring together audiences, students, local residents, and visiting filmmakers. The Festival also acts as a hub where industry professionals, emerging creatives, and semi-professional filmmakers can connect, share ideas, and build future collaborations, including co-productions. Through this work, the charity supports Scottish film culture while fostering a global creative community rooted in dialogue, learning, and inclusion.

Beneficiaries: 'No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'

The advancement of education by providing a platform for showcasing amateur, semi-professional and professional films and creating opportunities for productive knowledge exchange between emerging filmmakers and established filmmakers in Scotland and/or the rest of the world, the local academic community, the industry and the public by running industry workshops, masterclasses, conferences and networking receptions, and similar interactive events whether they are online or in person, respectively. 4.2 To collaborate with and support the local Filmmaking societies in Scotland. 4.3 To inspire filmmaking and volunteering amongst the local community, secondary schools, colleges, the University of St Andrews and Scotland.
