The purpose of the Scottish Centre of Tagore Studies is to widen the understanding and appreciation of Rabindranath Tagore and Patrick Geddes in the modern world, stressing their environmental and educational achievement and its global importance today. It builds on Rabindranath Tagore’s legacy and maintains his vision through the exchange of ideas, sharing information and knowledge and developing research. It connects scholars, artists and writers dedicated to working with the ideas and work of Rabindranath Tagore and his circle, and those who continue to carry forward these ideas through their research and work which it publishes in its journal, 'Gitanjali and Beyond’. It has a network of international research fellows and is committed to data sharing, publication and cultural exchange with centres and institutions globally, with the focus on India and the UK. As a research and culture centre, it dedicated to Scottish-Indian collaboration and global engagement.
