Tannahill Arts and Heritage SCIO was established in 2019 to advance the arts, heritage and culture through our annual cross-arts festival celebrating the legacy of Paisley poet Robert Tannahill while showcasing contemporary Scottish talent. Since inception, we have successfully delivered over 70 high-quality events, consistently attracting audiences of approximately 2,000 individuals and provided crucial platforms for both emerging and established artists. Our festival directly addresses the cultural needs of Renfrewshire, a local authority area where economic challenges make access for residents to cultural activities particularly difficult. Paisley, while rich in heritage, faces significant deprivation with Ferguslie Park repeatedly identified as Scotland's most deprived area according to the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. Our festival provides vital cultural enrichment in an area where such opportunities are often limited by economic constraints.
