Castlemilk Hall SCIO owns and manages Castlemilk Hall, a historic community hall serving the village of Carmunnock on the southern edge of Glasgow. The Hall provides essential space for a wide range of community activity, including a pre-school nursery, heritage, drama and horticultural societies, youth groups, local meetings and annual community events. Approximately 1,350 individual people use the Hall each year, generating around 8,500 visits. The charity is managed by a board of trustees who meet monthly and cover areas such as. finance, health & safety, grants, nursery liaison, management of lets, fundraising and projects. Grants are developed and submitted by the grants sub-committee for capital projects and the fundraising sub-committee raise funds by holding social events throughout the year. The main income from the charity comes from the nursery let.

Objectives: The organisation’s purposes are: • to promote the benefit of the community of Carmunnock and environs without distinction of political, religious, or other opinions, in association with other partners (the Local Authorities, Voluntary Organisations etc) • to advance education, health and well-being, the arts, heritage and culture • to provide facilities to develop for recreation, leisure and social welfare to improve life for the whole community. • to safeguard the interests of the Carmunnock area and promote such activities as may be beneficial to local residents. • to support the community life of the area in such a way as not to discriminate against members of the community on the grounds of age, race, sexuality, gender, religious or cultural beliefs or disability. • to ensure the maintenance and management of the Castlemilk Hall as a community hub.
