Objectives: 4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 The advancement of arts through the provision of an annual music festival in the village of Killin for the local community to enjoy or take part in- Killin Music Festival aims to provide the community of Killin and the wider public with access to high quality arts and culture through the provision of a music festival and other cultural activity throughout the year. The village of Killin is a remote area of the Central Highlands and as such, access to high quality music is not always easy. By bringing artists of an excellent standard into the community, we intend to advance their access and enjoyment. 4.2 The advancement of education through working with local schools to learn about traditional and contemporary music and culture- Through workshops with the local Primary School we intend to advance musical education and introduce pupils to music of various genres, but primarily traditional and the culture and heritage which surrounds it. This will be through a local primary school choir which will develop musicianship, performance skills and confidence. We also intend to develop instrumental classes for local children. We see this as vital in the face of reduced provision through local authorities and rising costs of private tuition.
