The Inverurie Concert Band (ICB) is a community concert band which brings together musicians of all ages who have achieved a music performance level of 2.5. Our year is broken into two terms, based on the Aberdeen School Calendar. We have two public performances each year - Christmas Concert, December & Summer Concert, June. ICB also has a Youth Section open to beginning musicians and a Big Band for those musicians wishing to expand their skills with jazz music. Both of these bands perform at the two annual concerts. Both concerts feature at least 1 piece performed by the three bands combined.

Objectives: 4 The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 Advancement of performance arts • increasing public exposure to, appreciation of, or involvement in the arts • reaching out to new audiences • providing opportunities for participation by people who might otherwise be excluded • encouraging high standards by raising artistic skills and nurturing talent. 4.2 The objects of the Inverurie Concert Band shall be to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals. In furtherance thereof but not otherwise, shall seek: • To provide an opportunity for instrumentalists of all standards to enjoy the musical and social life of the band • To establish a profile in the Grampian area, through a number of public concerts and workshops • To promote a positive equal opportunities policy and practice programme which is documented within our policy documents
