Care and Share Companionship (CSC) is a befriending charity that provides support and companionship for people over the age of 60 who are lonely and isolated and living in the Kirkcaldy area including Burntisland, Kinghorn and Dysart. We refer to our service users as our “Friends”. Our befriending support is provided by volunteers who are carefully matched to their Friends based on mutual interests and compatibility, and who build and maintain a relationship typically via home visits, telephone calls and an annual calendar of social events and activities.

Objectives: 4.1 The purpose of the SCIO is the relief of those of need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage In furtherance, the SCIO will: 4.2. Provide practical and emotional support to older people and their families with an aim to combat loneliness and isolation. 4.3 Provide practical and emotional 1-1 support, to build rapport with service user, offer community integration, to benefit wellbeing within the family and wider community. 4.4 Provide respite to family members in the caring role when required.
