Maintain and enhance the environment of the Linlithgow Burgh Halls Gardens to make it attractive and accessible to the local community

Objectives: For the Purposes of the 2005 Act, the following charitable purposes are particularly relevant. a)The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. b)The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science. c)The advancement of environmental protection or improvement. With reference to the above we will. To advance the environment by acquiring the lease of area known as the old Rose Garden and develop it as the Linlithgow Peace Garden and by providing various environmental activities. Provide recreational facilities and activities in Linlithgow Peace Garden for the benefit of the residents and visitors of Linlithgow to provide a meaningful and beautiful place of tranquil peace. The Garden will provide a location for small, free community events such as choral, drama and concerts. It will also provide a resource for local special needs groups, and for the elderly and young. Promotion of peace education activities for children and young people will be actively encouraged. To advance the arts, heritage and culture by incorporating a number of physical and planting features to mark the garden as a key location in the historic centre of the town and in particular to carry on the heritage work of the old Annet House Trust with its historic? Rig? garden. The trustees will seek opportunities to install items of Public Art appropriate to the location of the garden and to enhance the attractiveness of the garden to visitors.
