The purpose of the charity is ' to support people with dementia, their families and carers in Prestwick to feel understood, respected, supported, confident, safe, included and remain connected to their community.' Dementia Friendly Prestwick (DFP) has existed for around 9 years to support dementia related activity in and around the Prestwick locality and was established as a charity in July 2018. (SCIO Number SC048538). More recently DFP has focused on delivering a Meeting Centre for the locality. (from June 2022)
