Objectives: The SCIO will operate as a charitable organisation and its purposes are: To advance community development and urban regeneration by: supporting local people to identify and articulate their needs and act to address those needs. increasing resources to maximise community benefit by creating strong ties with community planning partners to co-design, co-create and co-produce services. increasing opportunities for community participation and active citizenship through volunteering, mutual aid, education and training. promoting and encouraging the conservation and enhancement of the local area. To advance education through the facilitation and delivery of educational workshops, training and seminars to the community encouraging the educational value of the local area, encouraging interest in its scenic, historical, architectural, landscape and ecological qualities. The provision of recreational activities through the promotion and organisation of festivals, galas and community activities and encouraging the use and development for the benefit of the residents of the community and the wider public.
