FUN LITTLE EDUCATION

Fun Little Education is a Charity Organisation (SCIO 48096) based in Livingston working with children aged 1 - 16 from local community. We are now various educational groups which are designed to trigger interest in education, science and environment. They explain the importance of: respect to others, environment protection and recycling, explain today’s technology and risks directly connected with it. We recognise talents in kids and design activities to develop individual skills and create hunger for knowledge. As an institution, we are promoting Multilanguage skills and good relation between communities. Our mission is to create an environment full of inspiration, where children take active part in the science experiments every week.

“Enjoyment is a key for an effective learning.”

The organisation was running educational and cultural projects in 2018/2019 funded by Awards for All (project 2018/2019 Together in Broxburn- Little Scientist) and Climate Challange Fund (project 2018/2019 The Carbon Cycle of Tomato) and Consulate General of Republic of Poland in Edinburgh.

The Fun Little Education was known as Fun Little Poland organisation set up as a voluntary association in 21/02/2015 by a group of Polish parents living in Broxburn. The aim of the organisation was to support Polish families by offering educational and cultural activities for Polish families. The organisation became a SCIO in 23/01/2018 and change a name for Fun Little Education. The organisation is constituted with democratically elected managing board.

The organisation currently runs regular sessions of Polish Supplementary School, Nursery, Playgroup and Summer Camp.

To make sure that an organisation acts on behalf of the community and delivers projects that are needed we run monthly meetings and annual general meeting open to all members where inform strategic planning for the following month/year. We have dedicated Facebook page, website: www.funlittleeducation.com that offers an easy way to update members with new developments and facilitate discussion.

Fun Little Education – Supporting Multilingual Children and Families in Scotland

Fun Little Education is a registered charity established to support the educational and cultural development of children and young people, particularly from Polish and multilingual backgrounds living in Scotland. Our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality learning opportunities that promote language development, cultural awareness, and a strong sense of identity in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

We deliver this mission through three core programmes:

1. Polish Language Classes

Held weekly on Fridays and Saturdays, our Polish language classes serve children aged 3 to 18. We follow the Polish Core Curriculum for students living abroad , as recommended by the Polish Ministry of Education.

Our goals:

Children are grouped by age and language proficiency. We offer lessons for native speakers and for children learning Polish as a second or foreign language.

3

FUN LITTLE EDUCATION

Our approach:

Inspired by the pedagogy of SP , we promote learning through play, creativity, self-discovery, and collaboration. Lessons are dynamic and engaging, focused on practical language use, storytelling, cultural exploration, and games. For older students, we also offer GCSE and A-Level preparation in Polish.

2. Bilingual Nursery

Our nursery is open to all children, regardless of linguistic or cultural background, welcoming children from Polish-speaking, bilingual, and non-Polish-speaking families. We provide a rich, multilingual learning environment for children aged 1 to 5.

Our approach:

3. Summer Camps

Each year, we run creative and educational summer camps for children aged 5 to 12. These offer an immersive and playful opportunity to explore the Polish language and culture.

Each camp includes:

Our summer camps are open to all families , including those with limited or no Polish background, and are especially appreciated by working parents seeking enriching childcare during the holidays.

Our Broader Impact

Fun Little Education is also a vibrant community hub . We organise cultural events, exhibitions, family workshops, and bilingual performances that foster community spirit, intergenerational learning, and pride in cultural heritage. We also promote diversity and dialogue with the wider Scottish society.

We collaborate with organisations such as the Polish Consulate , local councils, and educational partners to promote bilingual education and cultural inclusion across communities.

Our Values

We believe that language and identity are deeply connected . For children growing up in multilingual environments, access to their heritage language is essential for their selfconfidence, emotional wellbeing, and sense of belonging.

We are committed to:

Fun Little Education is run by a dedicated team of qualified educators and volunteers , supported by a combination of grants, fundraising, parental contributions, and community partnerships. We continuously evaluate and adapt our work to meet the evolving needs of the families we serve.
