We also help with the sounds project which was run by Sheena Graham- George. Whis resulted in lots of local storeys being recorded. Events & ￿nd rnlslng The fund raisin8 and events was very successful in this year. Wtth two events bein8 held Bonfire A community Bonfire was held which raised £350. This was a great event with the community coming together. L￿￿5 made soup and home bakes there was a raffle. and it was a good vent with over around 100 people attending. Fi•lds of tim• proj•ct We were successful in obtaining a covid recovery grant1£25(K)I forni Orkney Island council in 2024 financial year. This was for community enga8ement and recovery from covid. This amount of fundin8 was from the Herttage section of Orkney Island council. was commissioned to do this projert. The purpose of the project wa5 to engage locals in their community by recording field name5 in the local area of the church. There were also pictures taken of redundant hand farm tools and equipment. This was also to engage the farrning community into the project. The deliverable of this project was events which happened in this finantial year. On the back of this was commissioned to do an additional work which was to collate the field names iiiio a tapestry. This is on80inB. Financial review

Brief statement of the charity's policy The Trust is still in a good financial posttion because of fund-raising efforts on reserves in this and previous year, with available cash now stsnding at £10,716. This will enable urgent repairs to be undertaken. Reserves Policy The Trust is committed to holding sufficient fvnds to meel forthcoming commitrnents such as repair and insurance costs. The current improved siluation is sufficient at present. Plans for the future period The Trust will continue to cary out repairs and restorations. There is a healthy willingness to holed public event with the community to evolve them with this building. Details of any deficit There are rK) deficits as we have received more than we have paid out. Donated facilities and services (if any) Thanks must go to the inttial anonymous donots that donated the money for the purchase of the church. 1. Basis of accounting

These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis in

accordance with the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended).

2. Trustee Remuneration and Related Party Transactions

There were no trustee remunerations during the period and no trustee had any personal interest in any contract or transaction entered into by the charity.

3. Purpose of Funds

Unrestricted funds

Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity.

Restricted funds

The St Mary's Church funds are those received in order to purchase (including costs associated with purchase) and restore St Mary's Church, Burwick.

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the
Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees
consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations
does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section
44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent
examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts
Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the
charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks
explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do
