The organisation is working to better meet the needs of the local community through the community asset transfer of a building and area of land from the City of Edinburgh Council and its replacement with a new building to house Blackhall Nursery in a purpose-designed space, alongside a new flexible space for use by community groups and individuals of all ages, and which can support sporting activities in the adjacent park through access to toilet and storage facilities.

Objectives: 4 The company has been formed to benefit the community of Blackhall, Edinburgh, defined by the postcode units listed in Appendix 1 (which includes the Blackhall School catchment area) (“the Community”) with the Purposes listed in the sub-articles hereto (“the Purposes”), to be exercised following the principles of sustainable development (where sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs), namely: (1) To advance community development within the Community, including urban regeneration. (2) To advance education, including early years and community learning, for the benefit of the public. (3) To provide facilities for recreation, sport and other leisure activities for the health and wellbeing of the public. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development.
