'the saving of lives'

Coastwatch Scotland (CWS) is dedicated to saving lives and ensuring safety around water bodies, including rivers and the sea. Our mission involves vigilant monitoring of activities to protect both the public and wildlife. We support emergency services by alerting them to potential hazards and assisting in rescue operations, including coordinating efforts and even helping to land rescue helicopters. Our volunteers are thoroughly trained in first aid, rescue techniques, and effective communication. The volunteers participate in regular drills to stay prepared. We also engage in community outreach, teaching water safety in schools and providing defibrillator training to various groups. By participating in events and fundraising activities, we raise awareness about water safety and the importance of our work. In Partnership Approach to Water Safety (PAWS) group helps us address local concerns and reduce incidents, ensuring safer shores for everyone.
