Objectives: 4. The organisation’s purposes are: a) the advancement of education with a focus on nature, climate, environment topics on local and global levels, recognising that the climate crisis is a social and humanitarian one as opposed to an environmental one b) the advancement of community development and connections c) the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and science through • providing a brand new library space within Ayrshire whilst connecting with the existing culture and cultural spaces by working in partnership with the Scottish Maritime Museum • the creation of an artist-made library, offering opportunities for local artists, writers and researchers d) the provision of recreational facilities for the local community in Ayrshire, where the charity is based, as well as across Scotland through outreach events e) the promotion of equality and diversity, decolonising the environment by offering new ways of thinking about nature and its politics and providing agency to underrepresented groups. f) the advancement of environmental protection or improvement through the improvement of carbon literacy and providing resources, skills and facilities to encourage community involvement. • Embracing the unique role that libraries can play as community centres for environmental action, maximising their potential for providing environmental education and ecological literacy.
