BREADALBANE MEN’S SHED Chair’s report for 2025-26
This has been another exciting and productive year. This year’s AGM is the ninth since incorporation. This report covers the period from January 2025 to December 2025.

Activities
We have continued to keep busy in the workshop, along with the serious business of putting the world to rights over a cuppa and a biscuit.
Repairs for local people have continued to be the main source of work.
One particularly fine result was a small wooden wheelbarrow, which had been brought in by a local man. His grandfather has originally built the wheelbarrow but it had rotted. We were able to rebuild the wheelbarrow, replacing the rotten parts and using as much of the original features as possible.
Community engagement
This year, we have continued to reach out to other community groups.
The Ladder Recovery Cafe have continued to make use of our social area once a month.
We joined forces with Highland Perthshire Plus to enable some of their young people to build bird boxes in our workshop.

We were commissioned by the Durrell Conservation Trust to build 5 mostella boxes, to assist in the monitoring of their rewilding project at Dalnacardoch.
These have proven very successful and have enabled the recording of a weasel (this was one of the species they were hoping for), wren, pine marten and wood mouse.
We are proud of playing a small part in this project.
Fundraising
We have continued to receive donations from local people, in return for a variety of tasks. These totalled £2,451.87 this year. We are very grateful to everyone who has contributed.
We also raised £1,246.96 from our week in the thrift shop.
Our stall at the Christmas market was very popular and raised £640.58.
We have continued to offer PAT testing to local organisations.
We are grateful to the Basil Death Trust for a grant of £1,720, which has enabled us to purchase a number of battery operated tools. These are invaluable for working on projects outside of the workshop.
We were very pleased to receive £900 from Perth and Kinross Council, the third year we have received Budget Motion monies.
These donations and fundraising are essential to the ongoing sustainability of the shed.

The detailed accounts for 2025-26 have been prepared using the OSCR approved method and are appended to this report, along with the independent examiner’s report.
