A.G.M. THURSDAY 27TH MARCH 2025 HELD IN THE OLD FOLKS HALL LAURIESTON

went over the balance sheet for 2024 This year we had deficit of £5,041.05. This was partially due to the fact that we decided to use some of our financial resources to up-date our facilities The sinks and toilets pans were renewed in both toilets and we had electric hand dryers installed too. Our main hall was repainted and we were lucky to have been awarded a £1,000 grant from Morrisons Foundation which was used to purchase a new front door for our premises. Our gas and electricity bill has gone up as has our insurance. We can,t look elsewhere for insurance as we are still having an ongoing debate with Aviva about the standard of work done by their builders when we had the flood (caused by them) in 2022.. We have been lucky again to have been awarded a grant from the C.V.S., this time for £3,000 which will again be used for social events. This will be very handy as we find the prices of buses for any of our outings are extortionate. We have just been awarded £400 from the Agnes Watt Fund which will also be used)to helpproposedwith o ~~i~~ l eryone secondedwas happy with the balance sheet which was then We hope to hold our Easter Raffle on Thursday 17" April. Again we would be very grateful for any donations of Easter Eggs. The concert party from Falkirk Bohemians will be coming along on Thursday 24" April starting at 10.45 a.m. “Geeza Brek” will be back to entertain us on 19" June. We are going back to Marshalls, our usual caterer, for these two concerts as we had some mixed feedback on the new caterer we tried fo our last concert. Our annual outing will be on Tuesday 3° June. This year we will be going to Melrose and Peebles. RB hs anked everyone for their support throughout the year especially with donations for our various raffles and contributions for our bring and buy sales. Helen Brown suggested that instead of a donation everyone should pay £2 for the coffee morning which everyone seemed to agree on. anked the committee for all their work throughout the year. Again the committee were voted en bloc. INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES

Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The Charity’s Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006.
The Charity’s Trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner’s Statement
An examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit,opinion on the view given by the accounts. uy

Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material requirements:

i) To keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and

ii) To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met,

To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

We have, since the beginnng the year, looked over our constitution and are quite happy with it as it is There is a couple of things | would like to point out

Wearea small organisation with a committee of five who are all willing to stay on as trustees each year, that is why we are voted on en bloc . Our members are mostly in their eighties and are quite happy for us to do this. We do have a few who like to help out at social events but do not want to become actual committee members. (the committee are all pensioners ourselves)

Wedonot have an actual list of members, as technically every pensioner in the village is a member. At the moment we have around 700 pensioners in our village and although we have a core who come along regularly to our coffee mornings we do get a good number coming along to our concerts etc

Onreading over the constitution | realised that although | have all the minutes of our committee meetings and A.G.M.s since | became secretary 25 years ago | have not had them signed by our chairperson. All our A.G.M.s since we became part of OSCR have been signed by myself and our chairperson.and from now on every minute of our committee meetings will be doubled signed
