The Clyde Fishermen's Trust was established in late 2016 as a SCIO by community minded local Clyde fishermen. It’s aims are centred around increasing cultural awareness of fishing, advancing marine science, providing education particularly on marine related issues, developing the Arts (particularly in remote coastal areas where this is sparse) and regenerating and supporting these communities which have experienced issues, such as rapid depopulation and loss of connection to their fishing heritage, over recent years. We achieve this by raising funds, awarding grants, organising community events such as festivals and research retreats and through training and outreach.
