The actions of the committee are OV¢Tse¢n by the Trustees. Appoinlrnent of Trustees Trustees are recruited at the Annual General Meeting. The orri¢e Bearers are elect¢d at Ihe Annual General Meeting. Ob ecdves and Actfivltles Charitable purposes To identify fornier service personnel, their faniilies and dependanls who are in need and are not QU￿entlY receiving help that they require and are entitled to. The prevention or relief of poverty, financial hardship or distress of fonner service personnel, fheir families and dependanls through co-ordinallng with the appropriate agen¢i¢s and allied organisations. To offer moral and practical aid and in cases where financial assistance is required, lo offer such. To provid¢ Iransport for fonner sttrvictt personnttl, Iheir families and descendants to attend Remembrance Services and Comniemoraiion evenl5 where they would nol otherwise be able to do so. Activities We have established strong links with SSAFA, the anned forces charity, Homes 4 Heroes and Help our Wounded. These organisations provide valuable assislanLe to those in need. They do however require time for the necessary fonnalities to be completed prior to releasing aid. We are able to provide immediate assistance up until the large organisations can take over, thus reduciiig the anxiety and stress often felt by those in need. Our asslstance takes many fonns. Moral support for those who ar¢ having diffLcuIty in adjusting lo civilian life by introducing thcrn to othcr fomier service personnel with whom they can discuss their problems. Practlcdl support by for example providing transporr for hospital visits for relatives and dependants. Visiling those in hospital. Financial support, this take the forn] of short temi emergeney assisLqnce while we arrange for the large eharities to get up io speed. Our minibus is extremely busy fenrying veterans and their families and dependants lo and frorn hospitals, to remembrance and cornmernoration events, and to vaTAOUS veterans breakfasts. These breakfasts enable veterans to meet and interaLI with other fomier service personnel in a relaxed infomial environment where they can discuss their problems.

This in¢lud¢d trips lo Spean Bridg¢ to the Commaiido M¢morial. There was a successful application lo the lottery resulting in a £500n grant which could be used for running ¢osis ol the ¢haThly this was awarded through a professional funding researcher. We have now booked a storage container to store many of the items purchased. Trustees Remuueratiou aud Ex en5es Ther¢ has been no r¢muneralion 10 Charity Trustees during the period. StAffin Thcre have been no paid staff members during the period. Flnunclal Revlcw lTre rcsults for the period show Income 2022 £8,755 (2021 £11,455) and Expenditure 2022 £10,717 (2021 £2,855). Th¢ result5 show a 2022 deficit £1,962 (20215urplus £4.481) with lolal fi￿dS remaining 2022£4.005. Re5peetlve responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparalion of the accounts in accordance with the tenns of the Charities and Trustees Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Auounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity Trustees consider that the audit requirement of the Regulation lO(I) (d} of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It ts my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act to stale whcthcr particular matters have come 10 my attention. Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement My examination is carrted out in accordance witli Regulalion I l of the Charilies Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An ¢Kamin8tion includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of die accounts prescnted wilh thos¢ records. It also includes consideration of any unusual iterns or disclosures in the 8ccouThts, and seeks explanations from the Trustees concerning any such mait¢rs.
