Activities
We have established strong links with SSAFA, the anned forces charity, Homes 4 Heroes

however require time for the necessary fonnalities to be completed prior to releasing aid. We are able to
provide immediate assistance up until the large organisations can take over, thus reduciiig the anxiety and
stress often felt by those in need. Our asslstance takes many fonns. Moral support for those who ar¢
having diffLcuIty in adjusting lo civilian life by introducing thcrn to othcr fomier service personnel with
whom they can discuss their problems. Practlcdl support by for example providing transporr for hospital
visits for relatives and dependants. Visiling those in hospital. Financial support, this take the forn] of short
temi emergeney assisLqnce while we arrange for the large eharities to get up io speed.
Our minibus is extremely busy fenrying veterans and their families and dependants lo and frorn hospitals,
to remembrance and cornmernoration events, and to vaTAOUS veterans breakfasts. These breakfasts enable
veterans to meet and interaLI with other fomier service personnel in a relaxed infomial environment
where they can discuss their problems.
