Objectives: Purposes 6.1 The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes primarily by operating as a 'fundraising' and 'grant giving' charity which will support financially and otherwise the Scottish Dance Theatre, which is undertaken as part of the activities of Dundee Rep. In doing so the SCIO wishes to fundraise to support and promote dance (and in particular, contemporary dance) to assist Scottish Dance Theatre to seek new creative opportunities to promote and showcase its work to the widest possible audience, and in doing so showcasing local, Scottish arts and culture and facilitating performance of world renowned dancers and artists. 6.2 For the purposes of the 2005 Act, the following charitable purpose is (i) particularly relevant and (ii) is the charitable purpose identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- 6.2.1 the advancement of arts and culture. 6.3 For the purposes of the Taxes Acts the provisions set out in clauses 6.1 and 6.2 shall be read together to ensure the charitable purposes of the SCIO are compliant with the Taxes Act.
