All parents of children on the school role are members and the
membership elects a management committee of volunteer parents.
Trustees are elected on an annual basis at the Annual General Meeting
of the PTA. Any appointments during the year are elected at committee
meetings and subsequently ratified at the following AGM.

Charitable purposes

The PTA runs events throughout the year to raise funds to advance the education of the pupils of Law Primary School. It does this by paying for equipment and resources for education and recreation at the school which are not normally provided by the Local Authority.

Summary of the main activities During this period the PTA generated income of £12,980 through in relation to these objects fundraising efforts. A further donation of £4,607 was received from North Berwick Trust. The PTA donated £23,720 to the school during this year.

A ring-fenced amount of £1,000 is kept in the account to fund any play-
ground maintenance that may be required during the year.
The was a net deficit for the financial year due to a few substantial, one-off
donations being made to Law Primary school. The committee is satisfied
that a suitable amount of working capital has been maintained.
The PTA has benefitted from the school allowing us to use their facilities,
where required.

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the
Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees
consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations
does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section
44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts
examiner’s statement Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the
charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks
explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do
not express an audit opinion on the viewgiven bythe accounts.
