EPIC was set up as a SCIO to build on the interest in the environment in Clackmannanshire following the development of the Diamond Jubilee Way along the Ochil Hills. Donations were sourced at the wind farms owned by EDF and Clackmannanshire Council. An SLA with the Conservation Volunteers to whom EPIC donate have developed successful volunteer sessions and extended Pollinator and Forestation Projects which have attracted more schools and community groups.
Objectives: The advancement of heritage or culture through the preservation of local rural areas, community hubs, historic buildings and traditions though educational programmes, partnership working, service delivery and facilitating access to funding. Preservation of such buildings, recreational amenities and access to the natural environment enhances the area for local resident as well as visitors to the area. The advancement of citizenship or community development through the encouragement of voluntary and community activity, assisting and capacity building in voluntary groups and local charities, regeneration of local amenities and, though assisting other groups and through its own activities, assisting disadvantaged and hard to reach groups. The advancement of environmental protection or improvement through education in ecology, conservation and caring for the environment, increasing awareness of and interest in environmental matters and the delivery of specific projects to preserve local natural heritage and habitats, protect biodiversity and explore alternative energy. The advancement of education in ecology, conservation and the environment in schools as well as training, facilitation and capacity building within organisations and the delivery of volunteer training programmes. and The promotion of such other similar charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
