The Children's Wood operates in the G20 area of Glasgow. The area includes a wild meadow and a wooded area. Our aim is to provide outdoor activities such as Forest School, Climate Education sessions, outdoor toddler groups, volunteer gardening sessions and community events for all, and to foster greater wellbeing and social connection among local residents. We encourage outdoor learning, healthy lifestyles and stronger, more connected communities through our work with local schools and nurseries and the community.

Objectives: 4 The purposes of the organisation are, 4.1 The advancement of education by 4.1.1 Providing outdoor learning for children, young people and their carers 4.1.2 Organising public and school events 4.1.3 Working with schools and other organisations to educate about the benefits of learning and playing outside in nature 4.2 The provision of recreational facility, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, by 4.2.1 Preserving a woodland experience in the city so maintaining and protecting our local environment 4.2.2 Creating opportunities for children and the community to play outside in nature and meet each other by organising playgroups and events 4.2.3 Developing space for participants to explore in a safe and secure outdoor environment for the benefit of the community and its cohesion 4.2.4 Providing activities or services which aim to relieve the impact of poverty and income inequality on people living in the operating area. This could include food related activities. 4.3 The advancement of citizenship or community development by 4.3.1 Training teachers, young people and volunteers 4.3.2 Working with the local community around North Kelvin Meadow in the nearby wards within City of Glasgow (geographically this covers those living predominantly in the Maryhill/Kelvin, Canal, and Hillhead wards of the city) 4.3.3 Creating intergenerational opportunities and engaging with harder to reach groups through events and linking up with other groups within the community 4.4 The advancement of arts, heritage, culture or science 4.4.1 Through community projects and events
